Sameer Verma defeated Denmark's third seeded Jan O Jorgensen 21-19, 24-22 to enter the final of the Hong Kong Open Super series badminton today. With this feat, he has become the third Indian man to reach a Super Series final. India had a strong presence in the men's singles field at the Hong Kong open, but only Sameer Verma managed to make it through to the last 4. He claimed his first Super Series semi-finals berth after registering a 21-17, 23-21 win over Malaysia's Chong Wei Feng in the quarterfinals.
