Rio Olympic silver medallist P.V. Sindhu and Sameer Verma today entered in the final of the Hong Kong Open Super Series badminton. Sindhu defeated Cheung Ngan-yi 21-14, 21-16 in the women's singles semi-final. In men's singles semi-final, Sameer Verma defeated Denmark's third seeded Jan O Jorgensen 21-19, 24-22 to enter the final. With this feat, Sameer Verma has become the third Indian man to reach a Super Series final. He claimed his first Super Series semi-finals berth after registering a 21-17, 23-21 win over Malaysia's Chong Wei Feng in the quarterfinals.
