In Thailand, a Hong Kong student activist was detained today on his arrival. Hong Kong democracy campaigner Joshua Wong was detained in Bangkok where he was invited to speak on the 40th anniversary of the crackdown by the Thai army on student protesters.<br/><br/>Wong's supporters blamed China for his detention. Wong's party, Demosisto, in a statement condemned the Thai government for detention and requested for immediate release of Wong.<br/><br/>Thailand has been ruled by a military junta since a 2014 coup. Since then, the Generals running Thailand have forged closer ties with Beijing.
