The Union Home Secretary Mr. G.K. Pillai is visiting the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area in Assam to review the law and order and developmental activities.<br/><br/>The Home Secretary, accompanied by Joint Secretary (North-East) Mr. Naveen Varma and Deputy Secretary Mr. Ajay Kanoujia arrived at Kokrajhar on a two-day visit on Tuesday afternoon.<br/><br/>Immediately after his arrival, Mr. Pillai held two rounds of discussions with the top officials of Army, CRPF, SSB and State Police besides the Deputy Commissioners of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri districts.<br/><br/>Apart from security-related matters, the Home Secretary reviewed the implementation status of Bodo Accord, particularly funds released by the Central Government under special package to BTC and its utilization.<br/><br/>Mr. Pillai is attending a programme organized to mark the celebration of Eighth Bodoland day at Kokrajhar on Wednesday. He is also scheduled to inaugurate the new Assembly and secretariat building of the Bodoland Territorial Council.<br/><br/>The Home Ministry officials will also meet and interact with leaders of various prominent organizations functioning in BTC area including- Bodo Sahitya Sabha, All Bodo Students Union, among others, to get the first hand information on the law and order front.
