Home Secretary Pillai rules out any security threat to Delhi CW Games

Home Secretary G K Pillai has ruled out any security threat to the forthcoming Delhi Commonwealth Games. Addressing a press conference at Thiruvananthapuram, he said the Centre knows about procurement of paragliders by Leshkar-e-Toiba outfit and the same does not pose any direct threat to the Games. Reiterating that maoist elements are grave threat to internal security, the Home Secretary disclosed that maoists do have front offices in Kerala as well. In a joint press conference with DGP of Kerala, the Union home secretary said that recent development of religious fundamentalism in Kerala is a matter of concern. Replying to media person, Mr Pillai said that the centre is closely monitoring the activities of the Popular Front ot India in the state. The home secretary who is on a two day visit to Kerala reviewed intelligence sharing process between the centre and the state, modernisation of state police force by utilizing central financial funds and working of costal police stations in Kerala.
