Home Ministry to propose Government for extending ex-servicemen facilities to Central armed police forces

The Ministry of Home Affairs will propose to the Government to extend ex-servicemen facilities as in the Army, to the personnel of Central armed police forces.

Speaking on the occasion of 73rd anniversary of the CRPF, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said the Central armed orces are doing commendable service and sacrificing their lives for the nation in discharge of their duties.

Mr. Shinde said he will propose to the Cabinet to extend all facilities to the Para-military forces.

The Home Minister, who inspected the CRPF anniversary parade at Kadarpur CRPF camp, asked the forces to deal with the challenges facing the nation including terrorism, insurgency in the north east and left wing extremism.

Terming Naxalism, as the most serious challenge, he asked the common people, especially, in tribal areas to join hands with the Government to tackle the menace and work towards development.

Mr. Shinde said the Government is committed to provide all necessary assistance to the CRPF to achieve professional objectives.

The Home Minister also gave away five President's medals for gallantry and 13 awards for distinguished police service.
