Home Ministry rejects mercy plea of Ajmal Kasab

The Home Ministry has rejected the mercy plea of the lone surviror of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack Ajmal Kasab. The Ministry has forwarded its recommendation to the President. On 29th of August this year, the Supreme Court had upheld Kasabs' conviction and death sentence by the Bombay High Court. The LeT operative had filed mercy petition before the President on 18th of September this year after he lost the battle in the apex court. Kasab was arrested after he was nabbed during a gun battle with security forces in November 2008.
