Union Home Ministry plans to revamp its media set-up to ensure effective dissemination of information about Central armed forces under its ambit. This is in accordance with a plan suggested by the Naresh Chandra Task Force on national security. The plan envisages creation of a theater specific information dissemination offices of the various security forces and organisations working under it and involved in rendering sensitive internal security duties.

An official note circulated to the media offices of forces like BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, NSG, SSB and Assam Rifles said that a new blueprint for proposed set-up for dissemination of information through electronic, print and new media has been envisaged. The Task Force has also considered the expansion, upgradation and strengthening of the media in the Home Ministry.
