Home Ministry meets DG's to review functioning of CAPFs

Home Ministry today reviewed the functioning of Central Armed Police Forces with the Directors General of these organisations at a meeting in New Delhi. The issues discussed in the meeting include raising of additional battalions, setting up of regional centers and hubs, cadre review, housing issues related to the personnel, representation of women in forces. Review of BSF Air Wing, training centers, filling up of vacancies, construction of roads in difficult areas and issues related to procurement of land were other major issues discussed during the meeting chaired by Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju.<br/>'Addressing the meeting, Mr. Rijiju said, the government appreciates the dedication of forces and it is making all efforts to boost their morale. He also asked the senior officers of the forces to visit the border out posts and operational headquarters on regular basis which will raise the morale of the personnel. Emphasizing on the due representation of women in the forces, he said, efforts should be made to meet the 33 percent target of women reservation set by the government. The Directors General of CRPF, CISF, BSF, NSG, Assam Rifles, SSB, ITBP and senior officers of the Ministry and the forces attended the meeting.
