Union Home Ministry has expressed concern over the shortage of essential commodities in Manipur due to ongoing blockade on National Highway- 37. The Ministry said, no individual or organisation will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. <br/><br/>An official release said, the Centre considers blockades anywhere in the country a gross violation of law and a crime against humanity. <br/><br/>The Ministry said, a total of 30 companies of Central Para Military Forces are currently in Manipur to help the administration in clearing the blockade on the highway.<br/><br/>It said, additional forces will be made available to state, if required. It also reiterated commitment to ensure that the routes to Manipur are open and remain accessible to all including supplies of petroleum products and other essential commodities including food stuff. <br/><br/>The Home Ministry appealed to the United Naga Council to remove its illegal blockade saying all contentious issues need to be settled peacefully by democratic and lawful means.
