Home Ministry calls for report on alleged US survey on minorities in Kerala

The Union Home Ministry has sought a report from the the IB Chief on a survey conducted by a US organisation in a colony dominated by a minority community in Thiruvananthapuram last month.Speaking to media persons in Kochi this evening, Union Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran said the matter is being viewed seriously by the government and the chief of IB has been asked to conduct a probe into the matter.He said the matter was also discussed with the Kerala Director Genral of Police, Jacob Punnoose.The controversial survey was conducted at Karimadom colony in Thiruvananthapuram, in which questions relating to the minority community were asked. The survey was conducted by a Kochi based organisation for the Washington based Princeton Survey.
