Home Ministry has asked Gujarat government to ensure adequate security to jailed IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt and his family. According to the official sources, Centre will conduct an independent assessment of threat perception to Mr. Bhatt and his family. Earlier, Bhatt's wife has written to the Union Home Minister for ensuring her husband's safety. Suspended Gujarat police officer Sanjiv Bhatt was sent to Sabarmati Jail on Sunday, after a city court rejected the police’s plea for a seven-day remand.
