Home Minister rules out possibility of going back on Telangana

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today ruled out any possibility of going back on the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh. He said the Group of Ministers on Telangana will submit its report as early as possible after talking to the concerned stakeholders. Mr. Shinde said justice will be given to Seemandhra and Telangana regions.

Asked whether the Centre is planning to impose President's rule in Andhra Pradesh in view of massive protests in Seemandhra region, Mr. Shinde said that he cannot say anything now.

Mr. Shinde said the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh, in the context of Telangana agitation, was reviewed and the deployment of additional 45 companies of central armed police forces was extended upto 11th of this month. He said additional 30 companies have also been deployed in the state.
