Home Minister Rajnath Singh today asked Delhi government to fix stock limits of onions and potatoes for wholesalers and retailers to check and prevent hoarding of these items. Mr Singh held a high-level meeting with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, Chief Secretary S K Srivastava, Police Commissioner B S Bassi and other officials in New Delhi and reviewed price situation in the city. Briefing reporters after the meeting, Mr Singh said that he has directed for massive crackdown against hoarding of essential commodities including onion and potatoes in Delhi and asked the administration to take steps to control price rise. Meanwhile Delhi government has decided to make available onions and potatoes at reasonable rates through 200 mobile vans across the city. These items will also be made available through 300 additional government shops.
