Amidst escalated tensions along the International Border in Jammu Sector, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde arrived in jammu this morning to review the security scenario. Mr Shinde will visit Samba and forward areas,and then go to the BSF Battalion Headquarters, where he will be briefed on the situation prevailing on the International Border in the wake of firing and shelling by Pakistan. Later, he will visit Hiranagar police station, where three fidayeens had on September 26th killed four police personnel and two civilians. He will also chair the Unified Headquarters meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Our correspondent reports that the top brass of the Army, BSF, CRPF, Intelligence Bureau, police, civil administration and other para-military and Intelligence agencies operating in the State will attend the meeting.
