Home Minister Amit Shah has announced roadmap for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He said, elections would be held after the delimitation exercise which will be followed by restoration of statehood. Mr Shah said that the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 brought an end to terrorism, nepotism and corruption and people are now getting direct benefits from government schemes. Reaching out to the youths in the Kashmir Valley, Home Minister urged them to stand up to disruptive elements and become ambassadors of peace. He also told them to contribute to the development of the Union Territory saying it is their responsibility. In an interaction with members of the Jammu and Kashmir Youth Club in Srinagar, Home Minister said, stern action will be taken against those who disrupt peace. Mr Shah arrived in Srinagar yesterday on a 3-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He visited the house of the martyr of J&K Police, Inspector Parvez who was killed by terrorists and met his wife Fatima Akhtar. Mr Shah offered a government job to Parvez's wife. After meeting Parvez's kin, Home Minister chaired a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar. <br />''   <br />'' Mr Shah also flagged off the inaugural Srinagar-Sharjah flight, reviving the direct airlink between the Valley and the UAE after 11 years. The flight, operated by Go First, took off from Srinagar for Sharjah at 6.30 pm and landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) around 9 pm. Flagging off the flight, Mr Shah said the introduction of the direct flight will boost trade and tourism between Jammu and Kashmir and the UAE.<br />'' <br />'' On the second day of his J&K visit today, Home Minister will inaugurate two phases of a multi-disciplinary research centre and lay the foundation of the third phase of the centre at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jammu. Mr Shah will also address a public rally at the ground adjoining the fourth bridge over Tawi river in Bhagwati Nagar.
