Homage paid to Mahatma Gandhi on his martyrdom day in Bangladesh

<span style="color: black;">Respectful homage was paid to Mahatma Gandhi at the Gandhi Ashram Trust in Noakhali in Bangladesh on the occasion of his martyrdom day on Saturday, January 30.</span><br />'' <br />''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="color: black;">The Director and CEO of the Gandhi Ashram Trust Raha Nab Kumar led the people at the Gandhi Ashram Trust to lay a wreath on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the morning. </span></p> <br />'' <span style="color: black;">An all religion prayer meeting was held at the Ashram which was followed by lighting of lamp. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">A discussion was also held on the occasion on the theme of 'Mahatma Gandhi's Non-violence and its relevance in the current Global Context'. Several academics, journalists and eminent persons of the area took part in the discussion.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The discussion was followed by a play ' Mahatma' performed by the cultural group of the Gandhi Ashram Trust.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Mahatma Gandhi had visited Noakhali in the then East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, for four months in 1946-47 on a 'peace-mission' when it was gripped by communal riots preceding partition of India. The Trust has been working to foster Gandhian principles of peace, non-violence and social harmony.</span><br />''  <br />
