Several academics, journalists and eminent persons of the area took part in the discussion.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The discussion was followed by a play ' Mahatma' performed by the cultural group of the Gandhi Ashram Trust.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Mahatma Gandhi had visited Noakhali in the then East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, for four months in 1946-47 on a 'peace-mission' when it was gripped by communal riots preceding partition of India. The Trust has been working to foster Gandhian principles of peace, non-violence and social harmony.</span><br />'' &nbsp;<br />
