<span style="color: #222222;">The Holy month of Ramzan has begun in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh following the crescent was sighted in many parts of the country.<br />''<br />'' With the Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee announcing the beginning of the Holy month of Ramzaan, the observation of the first Roza begun today. The religious Ulema met at Khankha-e-Shattariya, Dabeerpura in Hyderabad last evening and Majlis Ulema-e-Deccan president Syed Mohammed Qubul Pasha Quadri Shuttari and Jamia Nizamia Vice-Chancellor Moulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed gave the official declaration of beginning of the holy month of Ramzan.<br />''<br />''The religious Ulema said the moon was not sighted in Hyderabad due to cloudy weather but, they received confirmed reports of sighting of crescent moon from Karimnagar in Telangana, Vijayawada and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh besides some parts of other states.  Amidst the national lockdown in view of the Coronavirus pandemic, a fatwa has been issued by the Jamia Nizamia, the Islamic seminary of Hyderabad, asking the worshippers to perform Taraweeh at their respective homes. The fatwa has been issued in accordance with the government's decision to observe the lockdown and contain the spread of coronavirus. The Ulema and Muftis from Jamia Nizamia appealed to Muslim Community to follow advises of health experts, observe preventive measures and maintain social distancing. They asked all members of the community to observe Iftar at home and not go to any masjid, and not to host or attend any Iftar parties. The United Muslim Front, an umbrella of community groups, also appealed to the members of the community and urged them not to gather for 'sahar' before the fast every day. The Telangana State Waqf Board, citing the Jamia Nizamia's decision, asked the custodians of waqf properties to prevent any congregations during Ramzan until further orders.</span><br />
