President Pranab Mukherjee has said simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies can take place if political parties reach consensus. Addressing National Voters' Day in New Delhi this afternoon, Mr Mukherjee said holding simultaneous elections will remove inconvenience and lessen expenditure. He said Indian voters have voted with utmost maturity against opportunistic alliances and coalition government uncertainties in the past.
