Hockey WC today: Germany beat Argentina, Kiwis thump Korea, Netherland beat Canada

Defending Champions Germany beat Argentina 4-3 in a Pool A hockey World Cup match in New Delhi today to brighten their chances for a semifinal berth.In the battle between the top and bottom-ranked sides, world number one Germany were lucky to have won the match against Argentina making a lot of scoring chances and earning more penalty corners five against three at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. With today's win, Germany, are on seven points from two wins and a draw. Argentina, on the other hand, are already out of semifinal contention having lost their earlier two matches.Earlier in other fixtures today, New Zealand defeated Korea by 2-1 in the first match while Netherlands defeated Canada by 6-0 in second match of the World Cup Hockey Championship . With todays win New Zealand now have 6 points from three matches while Korea have 4 points from three matches.
