Indian Hockey star Mohd. Shahid was laid to rest at his hometown Varanasi this afternoon in presence of hundreds of people including many former hockey players and official dignitaries. His last journey started from his old house in the town and later the namaze janaza was organised near police line mosque. After last prayers, he was laid to rest at Taktakpur graveyard.Former Indian hockey captain Dhanraj Pillai, Ashok Kumar, Zafar Iqbal, Sujit Kumar, U.P sports and youth welfare minister Ram Sakal Gurjar, and several administrative authorities were present to pay their respects.
