Hockey Punjab have won the 8th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship title. 

In the final in Lucknow on Sunday, they defeated Petroleum Sports Promotion Board by 2-1.  

Petroleum Sports Promotion Board had taken an early lead in the match as Gurjinder Singh converted a penalty corner in the 3rd minute.   

However, Hockey Punjab made a comeback in the last seven minutes of the match with Sarvanjit Singh scoring two goals in the 53rd and 60th minutes.

In the Bronze medal match, defending champions Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) defeated Air India Sports Promotion Board 5-3 on penalties after the scores were tied at 1-1 after regulation time.
