Noted Indian hockey player Mohammed Shahid passed away aged 56 this morning due to multiple organ failure. He was being treated at a hospital in Gurugram. Mohammed Shahid was a member of the V Baskaran-led Indian team that won a Gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. He was known for his dribbling skills, and was considered one of India's greatest hockey players. Shahid's son Mohammed Saif told PTI that the last rites will be performed in Varanasi tomorrow.
