Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today stressed upon the spirit of cooperative federalism while addressing the 22nd Meeting of the Western Zonal Council. <br/><br/>The meeting held in Mumbai was attended by Chief Ministers of Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra besides the Administrators of the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.<br/><br/>The Council today discussed various issues including coastal and internal security, formulation of plans for countering terrorism and modernization of police force among others.<br/><br/>The Council also reviewed the progress made under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and on provision of shelters to the urban homeless. Briefing the media after the meeting, Secretary of the Inter State Council, Ms. N Jayaseelan informed that Centre has asked Maharashtra Government to prepare a Master Plan on utilizing salt pans for low cost housing projects.
