HM says Maoists violence unacceptably high in Jharkhand

Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has said that deaths toll of civilians and policemen due to naxal violence remains unacceptably high in Jharkhand and much more needs to be done in the state.

Speaking to reporters soon after holding a review meeting at Ranchi Police HQ building, Mr. Chidambaram said that the overall target set under the Integrated Action Plan has not been achieved by the state. Our correspondent reports that this is the third review meeting in this year. The earlier two meetings were held in January and July.
