Home Minister Rajnath Singh today met President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan.<br/><br/>The meeting is being considered significant in the backdrop of Union Cabinet's recommendation for imposition of President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh.<br/><br/>A Congress delegation, including senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal, also met the President this evening and submitted a memorandum in light of the new development.<br/><br/>Speaking to media later, Mr Azad said party has requested Mr Mukherjee to look into the matter.<br/><br/>He said Congress will fight the government in Court, in public and in Parliament.<br/><br/>On Sunday, Cabinet had recommended President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh. <br/><br/>The government's recommendation has come at a time when Supreme Court is hearing petitions linked to the political crisis in the state. <br/><br/>Congress has said it will challenge the Centre's decision in court saying it is political intolerance.<br/><br/>The crisis began on 16th of last month when 21 rebel Congress MLAs joined hands with 11 BJP and two independent members to impeach Speaker Nabam Rebia at a makeshift venue.<br/><br/>In the 60 member assembly, 26 MLAs including Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, boycotted the session calling it illegal and unconstitutional.<br/><br/>A day later, the rebels and opposition legislators gathered at a community hall and voted out the Chief Minister.<br/><br/>Both sides then approached Gauhati High Court and later Supreme Court. The matter is now before the Constitution Bench.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Congress party has moved Supreme Court to challenge Union Cabinet's recommendation to impose President's Rule in Arunachal Pradesh. <br/>The court has decided to hear the Congress's plea on Wednesday (January 27th).<br/><br/>
