<span style="color: #222222;">Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting flood-affected areas of Belagavi today. Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa will accompany him during the aerial survey of these areas. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Home Minister will also interact with officials involved in the rescue and relief measures. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' AIR correspondent reports that rain has subsided in Belagavi but water released from dams has inundated several areas. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The relief and rescue operation continues as around two lakh displaced people and over 55000 livestock are evacuated from 245 villages in the district. Over 370 relief camps have been opened for the affected people. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Addressing media persons in Bengaluru today, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah requested the Central Government to consider the calamity as a national disaster and sought at least five thousand crores rupees as relief. <br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports that the situation is coming under control in North Karnataka as rain subsides. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">But release from reservoirs continues thereby flooding the low lying areas downstream. As Inflow to Tungabhadra Reservoir rose to 2.10 lakh Cusecs, administration had decided to release 3 lakh Cusecs water from Reservoir to river before evening today. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As a result, 5 villages in Hospet taluk and another, 5 villages in Kampli taluk likely to be submerged. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Administration under Deputy Commissioner Mr. S. S. Nakul had taken steps to vacate these villages. Almatti and Narayanpur dams on Krishna river also released water today. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">KRS and Kabini dams too have released two lakh cusecs water today. Kollegala area villages were asked to move to safer locations as there are chances of inundation. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The philanthropists and social service minded people are sending relief material to the relief camps as district administration gears up to take up rehabilitation. </span>
