<span style="color: #222222;">Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the 115th Birth Anniversary of late Dr. Shivakumara Swami in Siddaganga Mutt of Tumakuru in Karnataka today. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Shah said that Dr. Shivakumar Swami who lived for 112 years and was the pontiff of Siddaganga Mutt for 88 years was a Karma Yogi and a saint who practised the teachings of Basaveshwara, the 12th Century social reformer. He said that Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji is today worshipped as the incarnation of Lord Basaveshwara and revered as a God for his lifelong service to mankind.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Shah noted that even today the Mutt is functioning in line with the path laid down by Dr. Shivakumar Swami. Over 10,000 poor children are given shelter, food and imparted education for free.<br />'' <br />'' The Home Minister said that the Modi Government too is following on the path shown by the Swamiji. He informed that the Union Government arranged five kilograms of free foodgrains to the poor since last two years and provided houses to three crore poor persons in the last seven years.
