In Jammu and Kashmir, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant was today shot dead in a gun-battle with security forces in Patihal area of Marwah region in Kishtwar district of today. Deputy Inspector General of Police Garib Dass informed that acting on a tip off, Police launched a cordon off and search operation early this morning. The militant fired at the operation party to which the Police retaliated. In the ensuing gun-battle, Hizb militant, Akhtar Hussain was shot dead. Police recovered an AK rifle and two magazines from the spot. Akhtar, who was earlier in Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), had surrendered twice, but had recently joined Hizbul Mujahideen.He was involved in the killing of an army jawan.””
