Haryana State Addl. Chief Secretary Sudhir Rajpal today said the Hissar Green field airport will be operationalized soon, by April this year. Addressing the media on the sidelines of Wings India 2024, he said Haryana is one of the front runner-ups in the fast-emerging and expanding civil aviation sector of the country. He said Maharaja Agrasen green field airport at the Integrated Aviation Hub, in 7000 acres, is being developed in different phases. Phase 2 airport project with a runway of 10000 feet and terminal with passenger capacity of 2.1 million per year will be made available for operations soon.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Integrated Hub is also having related components like MRO and others of the aviation sector. He also said a licence for commercial operations is under process with the DGCA and expected to operationalize by April this year. He said Hissar airport, being located 230 km away from Delhi, is advantageously located and has back up facilities to become an alternative airport to that of Delhi. He added that the cargo hub is also being developed to make it an alternative one to that of Delhi, as it reached its peak. Mr Rajpal said smaller airstrips like Bhiwandi are being developed. He added that a Helihub is being developed at Gurugram, which is also an IT hub.</span><br />
