The Centre today said that the process of filling up 17,425 teaching and non-teaching vacancies is underway across the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in the country.<br />''  <br />'' In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi informed that twelve thousand 99 teaching and 1,312 posts of non-teaching are being filled up through direct recruitment. The Minister said, three thousand 985 teaching and 29 non-teaching category posts will be filled through Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.<br />''  <br />'' She further said, as of the 31st of last month 1249 Kendriya Vidyalayas were functioning across the country. Replying to another question in the Upper House the Minister said, presently, 248 KVs are functioning in temporary accommodation provided by various sponsoring authorities.
