President Pranab Mukherjee today said Hindi language played a prominent role in all mass movements in the country. After giving away the Rajbhasha Awards on the occasion of Hindi Divas at a function in New Delhi, Mr Mukherjee said Hindi is being acknowledged across the world as a major language.<br/>Speaking on the occasion, Home minister Rajnath Singh called upon people to promote and enrich Hindi.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, the Rajbhasha awards were instituted by the Rajbhasha Vibhag, Ministry of Home Affairs, to recognize excellent contribution in the field of Hindi language. Hindi Divas is celebrated across the country on this date every year to highlight the importance of Hindi language in India and also in the rest of the world.
