Widespread rain and snow swept Himachal Pradesh, affecting normal life in the state. The administration has closed all schools in Shimla and Keylong till February 16 due to the inclement weather.The key tourist resort of Manali received 45 cm snowfall on Sunday, while it was 35-40 cm in Keylong, Kalpa, Mari and Narkanda. The state capital Shimla, which was lashed by icy winds, recorded 5 cm snowfall. In Kashmir valley, the 300 kilometre long Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remain still closed for the second day today due to heavy rains and snowfall at both sides of Jawahar tunnel and landslides in various places on the highway.
