Himachal Pradesh is celebrating its 42nd statehood day today. Several programmes have been organized in the state to mark the occasion.On this day, in 1971 the former Prime Minister late Smt. Indira Gandhi had declared granting full fledged statehood to Himachal Pradesh at a public rally held at ridge ground in Shimla.The state level function is being held at Sunder Nagar in Mandi district where the Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal will hoist the national flag and take salute and address the people.
