<span style="color: #222222;">With the Union Government announcing a cut of 5 rupees on petrol and 10 rupees on diesel on the eve of Diwali, the Himachal Pradesh State Government has also decided to further reduce VAT on Petrol and diesel in the State. With this, the petrol will be cheaper by 12 rupees per litre and diesel by 17 rupees per litre in the State with immediate effect.<br />'' <br />'' Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur has thanked the Union Government and Prime Minister  Narendra Modi for reducing the excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and on diesel by Rs 10 per litre with immediate effect. He said that his decision of the Union Government has provided much-needed relief to the people of the country.</span>
