A resolution was introduced in the US House of Representative in honour of India on the occasion of its Republic Day calling it as a good friend. President Barack Obama spoke in glowing terms on Indo-US relations. Obama said the enduring lessons of the Day can inspire to seek a future of greater prosperity and opportunity for people of both the countries.In a statement, the President said the US and India are not only the world's two largest democracies but are two pluralistic societies that believe in the potential and dignity of every human being.Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, she is looking forward to visit India to carry forward the bilateral Strategic Dialogue. Clinton will be leading a high power US delegation to India in April for the next round of strategic talks. She said, India and America are working together to construct an indispensable partnership for the 21st century to promote a secure and stable world. She said in a statement that the two countries are forging an even stronger strategic partnership to support even greater cooperation on economic development, open government, and democratic values. Clinton said that the two nations are bound together by mutual respect, shared values, and the freedoms enshrined the Constitutions.
