Hillary Clinton arrives in New Delhi today

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is arriving on a three day visit to India on Monday evening. She will be accompanied by a 25-member delegation drawn from various Departments of US Administration. Ms. Clinton will hold the second India-US Strategic Dialogue with her Indian counterpart S. M. Krishna in New Delhi on Tuesday. The dialogue will focus on broad spectrum of issues ranging from counter terrorism and security, civil nuclear cooperation, defence and closer cooperation in education and science and technology. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, the spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry, Vishnu Prakash said that during her stay in the national capital, she will call on the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and hold meetings with the UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and the leader of the Opposition, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj. AIR Correspondent reports that counter terrorism is likely to be the focus of discussions, the issue which acquired added importance after the recent Mumbai blasts. Before leaving back home, she will visit Chennai, the hub of American companies that have made huge investments in India. The United States has underlined its commitment to pool civil nuclear cooperation. The two countries will also discuss ways and means to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan.
