Hillary: America to push Pak for Sayeed’s conviction in Mumbai attack

The visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today said that America will push Pakistan for seeking conviction of Mumbai attack master mind Hafiz Sayeed. Speaking at an interactive session in Kolkata, she said that Islamabad has not done as much as US and India wanted it to fight terrorism. She urged Islamabad to take firm steps against terrorists.

When asked about the next big target of the United States after Osma Bin Laden, She said, America wants to disable Al-Qaeda. Mrs. Clinton said there are several significant leaders still on the run and United States wants to go after them. Earlier she met West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamta Banerjee in Kolkata.

Secretary of state will meet External Affairs Minister S M Krishna tomorrow. Civil nuclear cooperation, regional security and Iran are among the key issues that US Secretary of State is expected to discuss with Mr. Krishna. The two leaders will also review progress made in Indo-US strategic partnership ahead of the strategic dialogue between the two countries to be held in Washington on 13th of next month. Ms. Clinton is also expected to call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
