Hike in Railway fares announced in Rail Budget effective from Monday.

News ConteTravelling in trains will now become costlier as the hike in reservation fee , superfast charges and Tatkal charges announced in the Rail Budget will come into effect from tomorrow.

According to the Ministry of Railways, reservation fee for AC classes will be dearer by 15 to 25 rupees per ticket while reservation fee for second and sleeper class will remain unchanged.

Superfast charges have been increased by 5 rupees for second class and 10 rupees for sleeper class while in ACs classes, the hike is in between 15 and 25 rupees. On the other hand, Tatkal fee has been increased by 10 per cent of the basic fare for second class and 30 per cent for all other AC classes.

In the cancellation charges category, it has been increased by 10 to 50 rupees per confirmed tickets in second class to AC classes, clerkage charge for cancellation of waiting list and RAC tickets will be dearer by 5 to 10 rupees.nt
