As the Sri Lankan government’s diplomatic counter offensive continues with regard to the accountability and war crimes issue raised by the UN Expert’s panel Report and the Channel Four documentary, India on Thursday also raised questions relating to the conduct of the war by the island nation’s security forces during the end of the ethnic conflict.In a suo moto statement in the Lok Sabha , on the situation in Sri Lanka, Mr. S.M. Krishna, External Affairs Minister said that while highest and most immediate priority is for rehabilitation and rebuilding , there is also a need for an early withdrawal of emergency regulations in Sri Lanka and investigations into allegations of human rights violations.Mr Krishna also emphasized on the just and fair settlement of the political problem and redress of humanitarian concerns of affected families due to war.He said the sooner Sri Lanka can come to a political arrangement within which all the communities feel comfortable, and which works for all of them, the better.Meanwhile, Sri Lankan government and the Tamil National Alliance on Thursday had their 10th round of discussion in an attempt to find a formula for political solution acceptable to all.
