High Powered Committee meeting held in Dehradun on displacement and rehabilitation of disaster-affected people in Joshimath

In Uttarakhand, under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary of Finance, a High Powered Committee meeting was held in Dehradun on the displacement and rehabilitation of disaster-affected people in Joshimath. All aspects of Joshimath were discussed in detail and a draft report was prepared. Our correspondent reports that District Magistrate of Chamoli suggested three options for rehabilitation and displacement.<br />''<br />''"Government of Uttarakhand is taking all possible steps towards the rehabilitation of the affected people of Joshimath disaster. In this regard, three options have been proposed.<br />''<br />'' Under the first option, one-time settlement will be done as compensation for the damaged property to the affected landowners. <br />''<br />'' Under the second option, the affected people will be provided land of 100 square meters for construction of new house and if it is less than their previous house area, then the balance amount will be paid as per the norms.  Under the third option, a house will be constructed on a maximum of 75 square meters of land at the identified place for the rehabilitation of the affected. These proposals will be sent to the state cabinet for final approval.
