The High Powered Committee of Chief Ministers for Transformation of Indian Agriculture today discussed the measures for transformation of agriculture and raising farmers' income. <br />'' <br />'' It also deliberated upon the modalities for adoption and time-bound implementation of agriculture sector reforms. <br />'' <br />'' Briefing media in New Delhi after the meeting, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who is also the convenor of the Committee said,  the committee discussed ways how to increase the use of technology in the Agri sector as well as more investment in it. <br />'' <br />'' He said, issues, like providing better market access to the farmers and improving the agricultural growth, did figure during the meeting. He said, there is a need to accelerate the growth of the food processing sector. <br />'' <br />'' Mr. Fadnavis said, terms of reference have been finalised in today's meeting and the states can send their views by 7th of next month. <br />'' <br />'' He said, the next meeting is expected to be held in Mumbai on 16th of August. <br />'' <br />'' Chief Ministers of Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Union Agriculture, Rural Development and  Panchayat Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar attended the meeting. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister participated in the meeting through video conferencing. <br />'' <br />'' The Committee will submit its report in two months. In keeping with his promises and following the deliberations of Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister recently set up the High Powered Committee of Chief Ministers for 'Transformation of Indian Agriculture.<br />'' <br />'' Our Correspondent reports that Agriculture, rural development, water conservation and its proper use have been among the major planks of  NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
