A High level meeting of Home ministry officials led by Home Secretary R.K Singh is on in New Delhi to allay apprehensions raised by some states on the anti terror body, the National Counter Terrorism Centre.

The Chief Secretaries and Police Chiefs of all states are taking part in the meting.

The meeting takes place in the back drop of demands for discussions amid apprehensions raised by a few states that the NCTC may impact the federal structure of the country.

Following differences expressed by non-Congress Chief ministers, the Centre had put on hold the operationalisation of the NCTC from the 1st of this month and decided to discuss the implementation of the NCTC with the state governments before going ahead with the plan.
