The high-level committee headed by Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa today submitted its report to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The committee was set up in June last year to study the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission on allowances to Central government employees.<br/><br/>In its recommendation, the Pay Commission had asked abolition or subsuming of several allowances. After submitting the report, Mr. Lavasa said the Committee has taken into account representations made by various stakeholders.<br/><br/>He said, now the report will be examined by the empowered committee of secretaries and after that it will be placed before the Cabinet for its approval.
