The high level central technical team led by Central Water Commission chairman G S Jha has said, the findings over water storage in Cauvery river dams in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will be analysed and the final report will be submitted to Supreme Court on 17th of this month. Talking to media persons after completing their visit to delta regions in Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam yesterday, Mr Jha said, the team had noted the ground reality. <br/><br/>Earlier the central team had discussions with Tamilnadu Agriculture Minister Doraikannu, Puduchery Agriculture Minister Kamalakannan and collectors of delta districts. AIR correspondent reports that the high level central technical team constituted by Supreme Court interacted with officials and farmers in delta region of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The team had noted down water storage inflow and outflow in major dams including Krishnaraja Sagar, Kabini, Mettur and Bhavanisagar . The farmers in Nagapattinam welcomed the team with withered crops. <br/><br/>The Cauvery delta farmers welfare association secretary Mannargudi Ranganathan told the team that farmers need 45 tmc water to save the standing samba crops. The central team said that they will discharge their duty as mandated by the Supreme Court and finalise the report incorporating the findings.
