Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee Monday said that high inflation must have influenced RBI decision.

Talking to media in New Delhi on Monday, Mr Mukherjee said that Wholesale Price Index, WPI inflation was 7.56 per cent last month.

The Finance Minister said, there has been some marginal increase in Consumer Price Index, CPI also.

He clarified that it is not necessary for the RBI Governor to consult the Finance Minister for the Mid quarter review.
