High alert in Kolkata

Security has been beefed up in Kolkata and adjoining areas. This follows an alert by the union Home Ministry to the West Bengal state government about possible terror strikes in the city and in adjoining areas. Security has been beefed up mainly at the Kolkata Airport and the iconic Kali Temple at Kalighat in the city. The Director General of West Bengal Police Mr. Bhupender Singh said, the forces will be equipped enough to face any eventuality.
