Heritage Railway Stations in Karnataka Set for Restoration and Preservation

<span style="color: #222222;">In Karnataka, the Bengaluru Division has identified several heritage railway stations, including Doddajala, Devanahalli, Avatihalli, Nandi Halt, Chikkaballapur, Chintamani, Kolar, Coromandel, Urgam, and BEML, for restoration and preservation on the century-old Bangalore-Chikkaballapur and Kolar-Jolarpet lines. A significant infrastructure upgrade is underway to modernise the railways.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In the initial phase, Doddajala, Devanahalli, Avatihalli, and Nandi Halt on the Bangalore-Chikkaballapur-Kolar light rail line have been chosen for restoration. This historic line, initiated in 1908 by a private enterprise with state guarantees and a supplementary agreement with the Madras and Southern Maratha Railway Company, began passenger services between the 6th of April, 1915 and the 7th of January, 1918, covering a distance of 38.63 miles.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Constructed 107 years ago, these stations showcase the region's history.
