Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been released on bail after he surrendered before a Dumka court in a case related to violation of model code of conduct during the 2009 assembly polls. Hemant Soren, son of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren, became one of the two deputy chief ministers in September last year when the Bharatiya Janata Party's Arjun Munda formed a coalition government.
