Famous film star Hemamalini was elected to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. In the election held in Bangalore on Thursday the BJP candidate Hemamalini won with 106 votes against the Independent Candidate Prof Marulasidappa who secured 94 votes.Prof Marulasidappa, a retired professor from Bangalore University, was supported by Congress and Janatha Dal(S). Totally 205 votes were polled and five were considered invalid.
